“Melbourne’s Open Mic Night with a twist”Ever found yourself at a gig, overwhelmingly compelled to jump up on stage with your harmonica – just to add an extra bit of spice to the sound? Ever had the desire to whack out your guitar and wail with the buskers on Bourke St? Is music at your core, in your soul, occupying your heart and the valves that keep it pumping? Ever just wished there was a space where you could go to collaborate, share and indulge in mystical, magical and magnificent musical fusion?YouJam @ Softbelly Bar is ‘an open mic night with a twist.’ We WANT you to come and indulge those urgent, overpowering desires. This is a night dedicated to musicians and songwriters. It’s about finding that true musical core through collaboration and improvisation. You can either book a time slot (booking will start from 6pm, music starts at 7pm) to showcase your tunes, or you can come down when the sounds have begun, and join in. Alternatively, just come and have a listen to the impulsive auditory wonders, which are bound to evolve. Bring your guitar, bring your drum, bring your tuba, your triangle, or your kazoo (get the idea??). We welcome any musical style and any musical talent. Our focus is encouragement, and a good time!
